The old rugged cross.

Someone sent me an sms yesterday: “Happy Good Friday! :D

After reading it, I felt sad that so many people do not know the real meaning behind Good Friday. It’s not just a public holiday that you’re thankful for because you don’t have to go to school. It’s a public holiday yes, but it is held in remembrance of how Jesus died for us.

Try putting your arms out and staying in that position for 6 hours, would you be able to take it? If yes, imagine going out under the hot sun, would you be able to take it? If yes, imagine being canned with a whip that tears your skin apart. Also, try having your hands and legs nailed, with your whole body weight down, I doubt you’ll be able to take it.

What if you were wrongly accused, of things you’ve never done? What if you were accused by your loved ones? The ones you helped when they were in need, the ones you cured when they were sick, the ones you saved when they were sinners. Would you be able to stay quiet and just let them accuse you for nothing, and spit at you for nothing?

Can you believe anyone would sacrifice all his love for the whole world? Withstand the pain without a word of complain, but still begged for God’s mercy for the world. I believe.

Because that man is Jesus.

God sent his son to earth to save all of us. Instead of feeling grateful, we humans are selfish and ungrateful people. Jesus was put on a cross, spat at, whipped, and mocked at. Why? All because he saved us! Jesus died on the cross to cleanse our sins. We can never repay His love for us. How great is thou art, we can never imagine.

Good Friday should not be a day when we go out and have fun because it’s a holiday from school. We ought to feel repentant and sorry for our sins.

It is a day we remember how Christ suffered for us. It’s a day we remember how Christ willingly gave His life for us. And it’s a day we remember how Christ died, one for all.

I thank God for his wonderful love, his sacrifices made for me, and everyone of us. I was once a sinner, but thanks to Jesus, I am saved. Because of Him, I have a new life!

“”For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

- John 3:16

I feel honoured, to be known as a “CHILD OF GOD”  :)

Thank God! Tmrw’s Easter day, I look forward to a meaningful Sunday school activity! Today’s fellowship was really interesting! We proved God’s existence, through three activities. God is all around us, His creations among us all. Sometimes, we just deny it, and ask “Where on earth is God?” Because He cannot be seen, He is God!

Once again, thank God for his eternal love!

Tahtah.
